I don’t end where my skin ends

Robotic arm interaction 

The project is an interactive installation that talks about how digital environments accelerate our temporal perception while simultaneously dissolving the body outside of its traditional forms. It combines a robotic arm, sound, and audio-reactive visuals that try to synthetically represent that process.

In contemporary culture, our actions constantly pass through interfaces and machines. We scroll, tap and type, recreating repetitive gestures. While in the physical realm, bodily movement gets limited, in the digital one, they shape new desires and representations. Time gets fragmented with a vast amount of information, and before we notice it, our bodies get to move through interfaces.

The project draws on the concept of deterritorialization, as described by Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari, where “deterritorialization is the movement by which one leaves a territory.” In this context, the body extends beyond its biological boundaries and becomes distributed across interfaces, data flows, and machinic systems. The process of ‘becoming’ becomes a more accurate term to describe our ontological condition, where identity is continuously shaped through interactions between biological, technological, and cultural systems rather than existing as a fixed entity.
